The Thermo King SLXi-DRC is a slimline, single-temperature transport refrigeration unit engineered specifically for domestic refrigerated container (DRC) operations and intermodal rail transport. Designed to maximize payload space, its ultra-slim profile enables 53-ft domestic containers to accommodate up to 15 pallet rows—gaining an additional full pallet row over standard container layouts. Weighing 200 lbs less and measuring 7 inches slimmer than comparable models, this lightweight unit optimizes weight distribution without sacrificing cooling capability.
Powered by a direct-injection, liquid-cooled TK486V 4-cylinder diesel engine compliant with EPA Final Tier 4 standards, the SLXi-DRC delivers 46,000 BTU/hr of cooling capacity and 40,000 BTU/hr of heating capacity. It utilizes lower-GWP R-452A refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential. Built for the rugged demands of rail shipping, the unit features a flush-mount evaporator, aluminum doors, stainless steel hardware, and a rail-ready horizontal side exhaust system.
Equipped with standard EMI 3000 extended maintenance interval components and Extended Life Coolant (ELC), the unit offers service intervals of up to 3,000 hours. A factory-installed ThermoLite solar panel helps sustain battery life, while integrated telematics support enables remote asset tracking and temperature monitoring through Connected Suite.
