The Thermo King SLXi-DRC is a self-contained, single-temperature transport refrigeration unit engineered specifically for domestic refrigerated container (DRC) and rail operations. Designed with a slim profile that is 7 inches slimmer and over 200 lbs lighter than comparable models, it maximizes internal cargo volume to accommodate 15 pallet rows in standard 53-ft domestic containers.
Performance and Engine Specifications
Powered by a liquid-cooled TK486V 4-cylinder direct-injection diesel engine compliant with EPA Final Tier 4 standards, the SLXi-DRC delivers 46,000 BTU/hr of cooling capacity at 35°F and 40,000 BTU/hr of heating capacity. It is equipped with the Smart Reefer 3 (SR-3) programmable microprocessor controller and an X430P reciprocating compressor.
Durable Design and Low Maintenance
Built for the rigors of rail transport, the unit features aluminum doors, stainless steel hardware, a flush-mount evaporator to minimize loading damage risk, and a rail-ready horizontal side exhaust system. The standard EMI 3000 package extends maintenance intervals to 3,000 hours or 2 years, supported by Extended Life Coolant (ELC) rated for up to 5 years or 12,000 hours.
Efficiency and Connectivity
Each unit utilizes low-GWP R-452A refrigerant and includes factory-integrated telematics readiness along with a ThermoLite solar panel to maintain battery charge and support auxiliary fleet monitoring systems.
